Katz recalls his first meetings with Stokowski and the formation of the American Symphony Orchestra. He discusses Stokowski's rehearsals and performances of the Ives Symphony no. 4; Stokowski's advice to him regarding conducting Debussy's La Mer; and Stokowski's recordings of Mahler's Symphony no. 2. He mentions Maxwell Lehman, Hans Schwieger, Natalie Bender, Jack Baumgarten, and photos of Stokowski with his children.
